    Virginia Smartboard users-Let's share resources!

We all benefit when we share.  Creating a Smartboard Notebook lesson or review takes time so let's share to help each other with making creative, interactive, multimedia lessons.  If we all share our websites (school, district or other) where we have posted Smartboard Notebook lessons online, we can all grow in our knowledge as well as help more students with enjoying the interactive Smartboard lessons.

Here are a couple I am aware of:

    1. http://www.ocss-va.net/itrt/Smart%20Board%20Lessons/Forms/AllItems.aspx

    2. http://rcps.info/education/components/docmgr/default.php?sectiondetailid=17748&catfilter=ALL#showDoc

    3. http://www.bedford.k12.va.us/itrt/resources.htm

    4. http://almarolh.googlepages.com

    5. http://teach.fcps.net/trt27/smart_board_lessons.htm

    6. http://www.rockingham.k12.va.us/resources/elementary/soltechintegration.htm
Choose your grade level and then Science or Social Studies.  I have a Smartboard Notebook lessons for 95% of the K-5 SOLS.

Smartboard Customized Google Search.  Enter in a search word under #3 Entire Web Google search like egypt or fractions and hit return.  Next click on the smartboard notebook link to see only Smartboard notebook files relating to that topic.  It searches the web including the Smartboard's website.  Right click on a file and download it.

Please share any more websites that relate to Virginia that you can add.....thanks.

I definitely agree with you about sharing - so many of us have worked hard to develop great lessons, why not help your colleagues by sharing some of those lessons. If you have any of your own lessons you would like to share you can upload them to the SMART Exchange and in turn you can download lessons from other users.

It's an easy process, that takes just a couple of minutes:

Click on the Downloads tab at the top of the page

Choose a folder on the right side from the folder North American teacher-created lesson activities

Click on either Primary - North American or Secondary - North American

Once you do this the Upload button will appear

    Click Upload

    Click Specify file/URL

Browse to the file on your computer that you would like to share and attach it

Give your lesson a name and a brief description (try to include grade level, subject, and objective)

Enter Tags (tags are keywords that will be used as search terms for your lesson) separate each tag with a comma or click select tag to choose a commonly used tag name. Include the name of your state as a tag (that way if we do a search for Virginia lessons your lesson will appear)

Check the terms & conditions box

    Click Save

     Congratulations you've uploaded your lesson!

     Kimberleigh,

I just wanted to thank you for setting this up.  I hope to see it used by many more once the school year starts up (though Obe is a wealth of knowledge!).  I will be sure to spread the word at my district trainings in August. I am also looking forward to the Mid Atlantic Conference.

I am in the process of cleaning up some of my Notebook 10 files and will be uploading soon - mostly middle school level.  I will encourage my colleagues to do the same.

Here are a couple of good sites:

    Colette,

Thanks so much for sharing! We'll be using the SMART Exchange to share lessons at the Mid-Atlantic SMART Board Conference and I am sure that as the school year starts up again many more teachers will start using the SMART Exchange to upload and download lessons. Thank you for spreading the word and helping our SMART Board community grow.
